What's Required for Installation?

The AISWatchMate can be installed either under or over a horizontal surface such as a shelf or cabin top using the supplied bracket. It can also be flush mounted inside an instrument panel using the included cut-out template and gasket. When flush mounted the AISWatchMate is thin and only sticks out 17mm (11/16") from the panel. In order to install the AISWatchMate you'll need the following:

• GPS (Any GPS that outputs NMEA 0183 "RMC" sentences).
• AIS recevier (Any AIS receiver that outputs NMEA 0183 "VDM" sentences). In New Zealand, the AIS receiver and AISWatchMate are sold together. If you are located outside of New Zealand, please contact your AISWatchMate dealer or Vesper Marine for available AIS receiver options.
• A separate VHF antenna for the AIS receiver or an antenna splitter.

Supplied accessories:

• Trunnion mounting bracket and thumbscrews
• Flush mounting template
• Flush mounting gasket for watertight sealing to bulkhead or panel
• Power/data cable (2 meter / 6.5') with watertight connector
• Protective cover
• Installation instructions

Optional equipment (the AISWatchMate can output standard GPS and AIS sentences to these types of devices):

• Computer and navigation software with AIS capability
• Chart plotter with AIS compatibility
