2008 Southampton Boat Show - September 12-21
See the AIS WatchMate at the Southampton Boat Show - September 12-21.

Alarm Capabilities

The WatchMate incorporates alarms based on a variety of settings including the closest point of approach (CPA), the time until the closest point of approach (TCPA), range and vessel speed.

All vessels with AIS are displayed

All vessel information is displayed regardless of whether a vessel has triggered an alarm or not. Vessels which have triggered an alarm and have been silenced continue to be constantly updated.

Priority Ordering

The WatchMate brings to the user's attention those vessels that are the highest priority first. This important feature reduces distracting screen clutter and helps you to focus on the vessels that are most important first. It is particularly useful when operating in crowded situations.

Controlling when an Alarm is Triggered

Alarms sound only for vessels that meet your alarm criteria. All alarm settings are easily customisable and are grouped into multiple profiles including offshore, coastal, harbour, and anchored. Profiles allow you to easily switch between modes as your situation changes.

Silencing Alarms

Alarms are silenced on a per-vessel basis. Once an alarm is silenced for a given vessel, it will not sound again for that vessel unless you decide to re-enable it. However, alarms remain active for any other vessels. Vessel information continues to be available so you can monitor progress. The WatchMate immediately updates the display with any course changes. The WatchMate always stays "on-watch" for any other vessels that might trigger your alarm criteria.
